IBM FlashSystem 7300 is designed to provide flexible and cost-effective scalability and performance. It supports NVMe over Fabrics to achieve the highest end-to-end storage performance. These solutions leverage IBM FlashCore enhanced storage media to offer exceptional flash density and storage capacity, while achieving latencies as low as 50 microseconds. Dedicated FlashCore Modules (FCM) utilize powerful hardware-accelerated built-in compression technology to provide consistent data compression without impacting workloads across the board. The 3rd generation of FCM supports enhanced compression and can store up to 116TB of data in a single FCM. These FCMs are designed to support centralized key management with IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager or Gemalto SafeNet KeySecure, with fully hot-swappable FIPS 140-3 Level 1 encryption capabilities.You can choose from a variety of capacities in FCMs, and also select industry-standard NVMe or Storage Class Memory (SCM) drives, with the array capable of simultaneously supporting all three types of drives. This means that by leveraging the always-enabled built-in high-performance data compression or the data reduction pool (DRP) technology in the FCM in conjunction with industry-standard drives, the capacity in a single 2U rack can reach up to 2.2 PB, with capabilities for clustering, horizontal or vertical scaling while ensuring high-performance operation.The control cabinet utilizes 4 x 10-core Intel Cascade Lake processors to achieve a 1.5TB memory cache. Each controller includes a hardware compression accelerator based on Intel QuickAssist technology, along with another available accelerator. IBM FlashSystem 7300 supports host connections using 16/32 Gbps Fibre Channel, as well as 10/25 Gbps and 100 Gbps Ethernet with iSCSI and NVMe RDMA options. Up to 4 IBM FlashSystem 7300 arrays can be combined to operate as a single system, enabling SAS expansion cabinet configurations of 12G, 24G, and 92G, with each array controller supporting up to 368 SAS drives.
